C5400x Gigabit Speed Issue
Hey Guys!
I own a TP-Link Archer 5400x router which has been working well atleast until I actually looked at my download speeds and did a speed test.... So I have gigabyte internet and realised that I was only downloading at 300 - 400 Mbps and when I did a speed test I got the exact same result. When I reboot my router I instantly get over 1 Gbps download and test speed but I don't understand why this is happening and how I can fix it so it doesn't happy every day. From what I can tell my speeds reduce again over a few hours until its locked again to around the 300-350 Mbps .
I have also tried plugging straight into my modem which fixes the issue so its for sure something to do with the router.... I was thinking maybe a QoS issue but I can't disable it...
Any suggestions?

Hello,
Normal browsing and streaming etc... is fine but when I am downloading anything from any gaming app like Epic games or Blizzard or Steam the download is limited to about 39MB/s overtime. When I use the phone app to just reboot the unit my download speeds jump to over 105MB/s and they will stay that way for a few days before dropping back down and being limited. This is with the whatever firmware you sent me

@Kevin_Z -- does the beta work with hw v 1.0? If so, can you sent me the link for beta as well please? I have gigabit FTTP and I see those speeds over wifi for a few hours, but eventually it drops to 50% of that and only reboot fixes it again (temporarily). I am happy to try the beta and report back.
Current Hardware: ArcherC5400X v1.0
Current Firmware: 1.1.0 Build 20180904 rel.41828(5553)

Please, can i have that firmware too? I own the Archer C5400X, with 1.1.0 build 20180904 rel. 41828 ; Hardware version: ArcherC5400X v 1.0. Same problems ( slow downloads ) with the gigabit network speed, and it's not my providers fault...
And can we get an official firmware version? Coes i surveyed the forums and i can see that this is a problem for quite some time...
Or at least we should be able to download the beta version, i mean for the amount of money we spent on this router, it should work properly with a gigabit speed.
Thanks in advance!

@Kevin_Z
I've been using the beta for a few months now and must say that the speed issue is gone. Funnily enough, the router's built-in speed test keeps on reporting lower than the 940 down/60 up which I should be getting. But since all the other testers which I've used (and TP-Link's own Tether app!) report more or less correct speeds, I'd say the problem is solved.
The only thing which continues to bother me, and this happened on other firmwares as well, is that the two SSDs (500 GB and 1 TB) which I've attached to the router's USB 3.0 ports sometimes can't connect to my PC (which has an Intel I211 network card) or to my wireless laptop (Intel AC 7265), though mainly to the former. CPU usage on the C5400X then shoots up to 100% on one or two cores, and I have no option but to reset the device. Is this a known bug with the C5400X? Or could it have something to do with the I211 card? Even though I've tried numerous Intel drivers, the problem keeps on reoccurring every week or so, and any information from you in this regard would be most welcome.
No issues other than this.
And I concur with those asking for a new official firmware – would be very nice indeed.

I don't understand. Has a new firmware been published for the C5400X? Can't find anything ...
