I notice ther are many messages in the system log that could indicate a faulty situation.

Example:

IMPROXY: WARNING[imp_verify_multicast_addr@206]: Group address ff02::1:ff00:0 is link-local multicast address

message occurs 3-4 times per second.

This looks like unnecessary overhead.

How can I resolve this?

@arnie2019

What is the current network diagram?

Please send us the complete system log so that we can do further analysis.

Meanwhile, does this log affect the actual performance.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Hi Kevin,

below you find the network diagram as given buy the DECO system.

The CPU activity is low as shown in th picture, but it can go up to something like 90 % sometimes.

I will  attach a log file  (august 31st) for your further analysis.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you very much, Arnold

@arnie2019

Thanks for your reply.

The log mentioned indicates the IPV6's multicast management information, it is related to the clients which uses the multicast services, which cannot be removed from the log.

While please be assured of it, it won't affect the performance.

Best regards.

I'm have the same issues, it's putting an extra load on the system about 33 logs per min and I don't even have IPv6 turned on.

I have similar issues. It makes like 5 new entries every few seconds.

Looks like this:

Thu Jul 30 21:01:16 2020 user.notice IMPROXY: INFO[imp_verify_multicast_addr@245]: Group address 224.0.0.251 is Local Network Control Block

Thu Jul 30 21:01:17 2020 user.warn IMPROXY: WARNING[imp_verify_multicast_addr@206]: Group address ff02::fb is link-local multicast address

Thu Jul 30 21:01:18 2020 user.warn IMPROXY: WARNING[imp_verify_multicast_addr@206]: Group address ff02::fb is link-local multicast address

Thu Jul 30 21:01:18 2020 user.warn IMPROXY: WARNING[imp_verify_multicast_addr@206]: Group address ff02::fb is link-local multicast address

Thu Jul 30 21:01:18 2020 user.warn IMPROXY: WARNING[imp_verify_multicast_addr@206]: Group address ff02::fb is link-local multicast address

What is the solution? I have ipv6 turned off.

I also have the same problem and it does appear to impact performance.  Are you planning a solution?

@arnie2019 Just try to turn off IGMP Feature. Go to web interface --> Advanced --> System --> System Parameters --> IGMP Feature --> Uncheck and Reboot all your nodes
