Schedule Wifi ON/OFF on TP-Link Archer C6 Gigabit Router Wi-Fi Dual Band AC1200 Wireless
Schedule Wifi ON/OFF on TP-Link Archer C6 Gigabit Router Wi-Fi Dual Band AC1200 Wireless
Hi all,
before purchasing Archer C6, I would like to know:
- if there is the possibility to set ONLY Wifi off (not connections via LAN) on certain hours (i.e. Wifi turned off frm 11pm to 7am)
- if Archer C6 is compatible with tether APP
Waiting for your answers.
Greetings

@ArcherC8 Yes, theoretically a simple solution. Except that my ISP says turning power on and off every night is not good for the router, can cause damage to the device over time (as a sort of hard power resets repeated every day).

Could you please add the WiFi schedule function? So many people are asking for this function.

Please TP link add this important and healthy functionality, i and other customer still waiting... Now I use a remote on-off button but it's a not fixed solution. If the firmware don't upgrade with this function maybe I will buy other router from competitor. Health first

Hello,
Just to inform you that US version of this item has ability to schedule WiFi, and that the rest of world (EU) do not have. Very, very sad... Can anybody explain me this?

Wow, really ??
Then there is nothing to develop so nothing complicated!
I suppose that it is just firmware dependent. Do you know if we can install the US firmware on our EU products?

Hi to all in this thread, I have been watching this thread for a while now to check if there is some news because I was also concerned about the problem.
Just checked for firmware upgrade, updated my router to the latest version - 1.3.0 Build 20200402 rel.52000 and I have great news - the schedule function was added! Thanks to developers. When I bought the router, I thought the WiFi schedule would be a sure thing as it seemed packed with fancy features, but was a bit disappointed with the reality. Now it's finally here.
Best regards from Slovakia

From a wired computer connected to that router it is possible to turn the wifi off whenever you want, but you cannot schedule the night sleep.
I am looking forward for such a solution!

Hello, I just realised that Scheduler is not turning OFF the radio but only hiding your SSID!!!
I checked with WiFi Analyzer App and still see 2G and 5G channels.
And below the support answer!
In the Release Notes it is specified that Archer A6(EU)_V2_200402 adds One Mesh function, therefore the router needs a dedicated SSID to communicate with One Mesh devices and the user cannot disable these SSIDs.
Very disappointing, for me it's like a scam!

Thanks for this information.
I did not notice, you're right.
It's the same behaviour if we disable the wifi manually from the settings.
This is absolutely not normal. If we disable the wifi, it shall be totally off, that's it.
I will open a ticket for TPlink to claim about it. For everyone who cares about it, I suggest you to do the same.
