Archer C3150 v2 discontinued
Hello,
I bought this router few days ago, previously I had Archer C7 v4 which has only USB 2.0. I bought Archer C3150 V2 because it had USB 3.0, USB 2.0 port, Beamforming, MU-MIMO and other cool feature. I used my router to download contents directly to my hard disk using Offline Download feature.
But the Archer C3150 V2 has not received any firmware updates in the last 3 years. There are a lot of features missing in this router which are actually present in cheaper routers like Archer C7. This is very disappointing that this router was marked with NEW in the Tp-link product page but never got any update in 3 years.
Features missing:
Offline Download
Scheduled Reboot
Performance Overview in homepage
LED control in Tether App
All these features are present in older and cheaper routers. Is there any Beta Firmware for this router? Or is is discontinued altogether?

Updates about removing new icon from local official website?
For it, like I said earlier, it is suggested to contact the local tech support, they should be able to give you a specific answer.

As you can see, the Archer C3150 V2 is still alive.

Generally speaking, a new firmware will be released if there is some new feature added or some problems fixed. While until now, the Archer C3150 V2 works well, that is why there is no firmware available.
Meanwhile for the differences between the Archer C7 and Archer C3150, it is related to the hardware settings; and regarding to the actual performance, the Archer C3150 should be better.
Best regards.

@Kevin_Z Even a cheap $30 router comes with a bandwidth control. This piece of junk costs $200 and doesn't come with basic features. I wish I had known this before buying

Tplink is just ignoring the customer feedback and doesn't care about their products. This router is capable so many useful things such as bandwidth control for individual clients, it has 2 USB ports but no support for downloading files/torrents directly to hard drives. Acts only as a OpenVPN server but doesn't support openvpn client.
It has all the hardware requirements such a a faster CPU, storage and sufficient RAM. I don't know what's stopping tplink product team from developing a useful firmware. A
lso a note for for future buyers: currently this router doesn't support any third party firmware such as openwrt and dd-wrt. This router is no different than a generic $30 usd with a crappy firmware.
