Unitymedia Connect Box not sending a 5GHz signal to TP Link Range Extender (RE650)
Unitymedia Connect Box not sending a 5GHz signal to TP Link Range Extender (RE650)
So I bought a TP Link RE650 range extender to boost the Wi-Fi signal from a Unitymedia Connect Box around my apartment.
The 2.4GHz channel links up perfectly and I can get the signal around the place, but strangely, the 5GHz doesn't seem to be getting sent to the range extender (or is being blocked(?)).
I can get a 5GHz wireless connection when I connect directly to the router with my MacBook or iPhone, so it's definitely working. I've tripled checked all the names and passwords, brandband and chanels. I updated RE650 to last Firmware (V1_190521) still not working. Any ideas?

What is the model number of the extender? Is it the RE650? What about the main router?
What is the hardware and firmware version of the main router? Have you ever tried to update the firmware yet?
Good day.

Yep, I see; I checked the email system and found that you tried with other repeaters with the router, but still failed to connect to the 5GHz.
For @ERE 's issue, we can do further analysis and try to figure it out.
