Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: firmware 1.3.1 build 20190617 Rel.47476

After upgraded M5 to firmware 1.3.1 build 20190617 Rel.47476, few bugs found:

1. can't update DNS

2. can't modify devices name

3. show wrong device name, and switchs name again and again.

4. Can't enable Mesh technology again if it's disabled

5. Keep reporting UPD Port scan blocked even like my network printer and Amazon Echo. Those smart home devices can't communicate correctly.

@HD7

Thanks for your feedback.

We did a test at our lab, and for the first 4 items, they work well as expected; we are able to change the DNS, modify the device name and disable/re-emable the mesh technology.

Please update the Deco app version and try to reboot the Deco units to give it a go.

For the UDP port scan blocked message, it is the antivirus feature. It mseems that a programme which wants to access the UDP service was block due to some security reason, while theoretically, it wont affect the actual performance of the specific device.

Nice day.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for the quick testing.

Based on your suggestions, power off /reboot all M5 units and download latest apps:

1. DNS, the latest app has option to turn off the automatic DNS, thanks. However, after modified it, the Android app can't go back to Dynamic IP again until restart the app, but iOS app works fine.

2. When modify Name, Mesh ( or others ), it failed to save, and returned message "Failed to save your settings, please try again later", and reversed to previous setting.

Adding new connections is good, but can't modify after added. I didn't try to modify all other settings, therefore I don't know if other settings can be modified/saved or not.

Where are all settings saved in? in the main unit or in cloud? Since they can't be "saved", does it mean this is an hardware issue?

Regards

HD7

@HD7

We did a test again with the Android app, which works well also. So we suspect that it is more related to the Android device and its OS version, as you mentioned, the IOS app works well as expected.

We will do further analysis and try to fix it.

1. What is the model number of the android phone and its OS version?

2. For the DNS issue, could you please shot a short video and send it to us.

3. WIth main Deco connected to the modem only, please connect your smart phone to the Deco network and try to customize the device name and mesh technology to give it a shot.

Any updates, please let us know.

Best regards.
