Manually choose which Deco to connect
Hello everyone,
I have 9pieces of Deco M5 inside of a house. After a new firmware arrived, I checked the map of my Deco M5 (how they're connected to each other) and notices, that some Decos bypassed 1 or 2 decos on their way and connected to the main Deco through wi-fi. There are 1 or 2 Decos between them, but they decided to connect to the Deco (main) which is far away from them.
I wonder why they choose to connect to him, when closer Decos avaialble ? Also would be great, if we can manually choose which Deco to connect to what Deco.
Thanks

@Kevin_Z Hi, I have a M5 x3 system. I have an indoor security camera tp-link (C200) in my Kitchen, it is connected to the main Deco device in the office which is on the other side of the house, rather then the slave in the same room. I have tried to reboot the camera but it still connects to the office that has a weaker signal. How can I make it connect to the one only five feet away? Thx

I really think they have to add this feature, also to choose the band they are using.
My deco's are connected to each other with 2.4Ghz, which is insane because they can connect with 5Ghz.
I have more speed by connecting to 5Ghz on first floor, while I'm next to a deco on the second floor.
That's because of the 2.4Ghz band. It reduces the speed too much.
I have a 1Gbps network but in my room (second floor) I can only hit 160mbps.
Also it seems there is a better connection to the third floor, also direct connect with Main deco and there its 200mbps, yep its 2.4Ghz speed :p

Thank you for your feedback.
We already plan to add this feature to the firmware 1.6.0 of Deco and Deco M5 would be the first;

Until now still don't have the latest version of firmware that can manually chose specific deco device right? So sad for their progress..

@Boriy
From my past experience, something tells me, it won't happen in 2021......

Hi, I think we could be more optimistic especially for Deco M5;
And Most of the Deco models have come to 1.5.x already;
Thank you.

@Kevin_Z having similar issues where Deco X90 chooses the main Deco to connect to even though the signal strength is very low & there is a much closer X90 to connect to?
Have you sorted out how to manually select the way Deco's connect?
