@7dwergen

I also think it was a good idea raised that all devices that join the network have to get approved - via the app - to enable them to access the network.

Very similar to when I now have to approve certain online transactions via my banking app before the purchase if finalised.

Has made me much more comfortable with banking online knowing that I have a track of all the transactons being made pre-approval

@TheBuzzard

Yes, this should be resolved fast. It's the one thing that makes it "useless". With the auto blacklist, it would be nearly perfect.

Happy easter!! laugh

@7dwergen Ditto. With virtual mac addresses being a thing, this is a requirement.

+1 to this. Way too easy to change your MAC address in Win10, and completely avoid all the parental controls.

As mentioned, would love to have a setting that requires the app to approve any new devices.

Anyone know if Orbi supports this feature, or at least has a way to prevent users from bypassing parental controls by changing their MAC address?

Any update on the whitelist feature or new device approval feature?

@Kevin_Z I would also like an update on this feature.

I know it appears that there's only a handful of people that want this feature but I'm sure the number is in the thousands of customers that want/need it. PLEASE create the whitelist feature or default parental controls setting for new devices ASAP. One of my children just used an older phone to connect to the network and look at pornography and I'm so mad my advanced mesh router can't stop it. He's mad he did it because he's addicted and trying to stop. Do it for the children! (And for the sanity of the parents) Soon!

@7dwergen Allow me to add another vote for a whitelist, I love the ease of setup and the functionality of the P9 but without the added layer of security I'm just not comfortable with it. I didn't expect this to be a feature that I had to look for in 2020 as I've had it in cheaper routers for years.

@Kevin_Z IOS 14 came out today, which means every iPhone and iPad connected to every Deco will automatically evade all parental controls.

Quarantine, Whitelist or default profile is now a required feature. Half your deco selling value points just got shredded.

 Apple announced this months ago.. hopefully a fix is packaged into deco v1.5?

@mfisch

Are you referring to the new iOS feature that assigns virtual MAC addresses in iDevices?
