Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

@Kubas I followed this procedure from ofiicial to wrt and from wrt to official:

One more thing. Correct me if I'm wrong. You mentioned:
"From 1.2.x I have installed openwrt and then gone back to 1.2.x using tftp."
Did you mean you downgraded from 1.3.x to 1.2.x. ?

@Kubas Yes, but with openwrt in the middle, because tplink has prevented going from 1.3.x to 1.2.x.
Or perhaps it is possible to go fron 1.3 to 1.2 with tftp (I didn't try). With the web interface it is not possible.

Hi all.
@adios , thank you for showing us your process, unfortunately as you mentioned it is still not stable, I managed that one day, one day !!, It was working correctly, like Swiss clock at 24 hours everything disappeared again, my solution: for my clients that I had installed the C6 for them, I deployed Asus routers, I have no problems at all, and by the way I tested the Honor wifi 3 for home, it is a marvel, Im very sorry that TPLINK has not officially done anything, but hey I have a nice ornament on my shelves.

1.3.6 Stable Firmware has been released on TP-LINK Website and Online Upgrade for Archer C6 EU V2.
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/archer-c6/#Firmware
"Modifications and Bug Fixes
Optimized IPv6 connection, added the support for PD only."
Can anyone upgrade and test?

I am already on 1.3.6 beta firmware and it doesn't fix squat so most probably this stable release probably won't fix anything too. But still, I am gonna give this a try and see.

No it's definitely different. I flashed it and I have noticed that the throughput on the 2.4Ghz band has significantly increased for all devices. Less jitter and less speed drops and no more packet loss atleast.
HOWEVER, it shows "Password incorrect" error to all connected devices until I login to the firmware and change the encrption method. I have to do this everytime I reboot my router.
But I am happy that the throughput and range is definitely better.

How do you meassure jitter, ping drops and packet loss? Is there a usefull tool or do you do it manually?

Use speedtest.net to measure the parameters
