Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

Gentlemen. Did any of you tried Openwrt as a possible solution to TP-LINK software problem?

@Kubas I haven't tried OpenWRT only for one reason as the OpenWRT 5ghz was still having issues. It has a lesser range and speed . The 2.4 GHz is definitely very stable it seems. Maybe someone can give latest updates on this. If the 5ghz problem is resolved then I would definitely switch to openwrt. TFTP flashing is not user friendly but not difficult aswell.
1.3.5 is crashing again and again frequently now even with reboot scheduled daily. Any updates on latest firmware ?

Hello all, sorry for all the issues caused by this Archer C6 and it takes long for a fix.
Edit 2020-09-23: Our developer has provided a new beta firmware for the Archer C6(EU), please try to update your router firmware to this version and monitor its performance if you still encounter the disconnect issue:
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202008/20200819/ArcherC6v2_eu-up-ver1-3-6-P1[20200819-rel50735].zip
If there is still no improvement with this latest version, please confirm basic info as below:
1. What is the exact issue now, is the 2.4G wireless still unstable or 5G unstable or all 2.4G/5G/Wired connections are having issues?
2. Are all wireless devices or both wired and wireless devices experiencing the same dropout or just some special or old clients? When they got disconnected, is the wireless network of the Archer C6 still broadcasting or the wireless network is no longer available on all other devices as well?
3. If only the 2.4G wireless is not stable, try to modify the wireless settings on the Archer C6 first, such as wireless channel, channel width, which would help in some cases:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2292/
4. Please try to fix the 2.4GHz wireless swcurity to WPA2-PSK(AES), then restart the C6 and confirm again:
Thanks again for your time and patience. Let the community know if there is an issue.

Hello, thanks a lot for your detailed info, and thanks again for all of your efforts struggling with this issue on the Archer C6.
May I know how many wireless devices are connected to the 2.4GHz network out of 22? Are all 2.4GHz wireless devices experiencing the same dropout or just some special or old clients? When they got disconnected, is the 2.4GHz wireless network of the Archer C6 still broadcasting or the wireless network is no longer available on all other devices as well?
What kind of "heavy" use do you have on the local clients?
Thanks.

When 2.4Ghz goes down - all devices that were using it - get disconnected. SSID of 2.4GHz network is still broadcasted. When you try to reconnect you receive "wrong password" message...

I have the same symptoms like Kubas.
But When i disable the 2.4ghz guest it runs stable. 2.4ghz is not heavy used but 5ghz is has more clients and sometimes under heavy load with many videostreams and so on.
Is it something like overkill for this router ?
In my case 10 wifi clients, 7 are 5ghz.
5 clients over LAN, but not direct connected at the C6.

@Kevin_Z Running on latest beta firmware 1.3.7, but issue still persists, issue is that 2-3 times per day 2.4ghz stops working and disconects all devices connnected , you cannot reconnet to 2.4ghz until you enable/disable wifi or reboot router. I also tried factory reset, and manualy set channel and widht, its 100% firmware bug as before it was working without issue for past 3 years.
