I leave it plugged in for a while / overnight
and lights go out (except for the blue power light)
Wi-Fi name disppears from iphone Wi-Fi search and internet access stops.
Switch power off & on
Its all working again.
I double checked settings, I have not set any schedule or time for LED off.

Hi,
What is the light status of the RE450 when it works properly? Have you setup different wifi name for the RE450?
With leaving it plugged in, is there any device still connected to it?
At that time, can you access internet from the main router? If all the devices cannot see the wifi name from the RE450?
Besides, have you ever tried to hard reset and reconfigure to give it a shot?
Nice day.

The large round light is blue when working fine.
It connects to a 2.4 Mhz wireless router.
I run the quick setup and the Re450 picked up the same wi-fi name as the wireless router + with _5G
which is what we connect iphone to.

Hi,
How do you connect the RE450 to the router? By wired cable or by wireless?
When the RE450 stops working( with power led on only), can you see the extender's wifi at that time?
If so, please connect to it and check the IP and gateway you obtained. Instruction as below:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/
At that time, can you login to the web interface of the RE450? If so, please take a screenshot of the status page and go to settings-system tools-system log to save it and send it to us.
Besides, how far away between the main router and the RE450?
Nice day.

What about other information?
With more details, we can do further analysis and try to fix it.
Thanks in advance, good day.

The other questions are stupid.
I already said it connects via 2.4 ghz - which any IT guy will tell you is wireless freq.
besides RE450 doc say you can not connect via wire to router.
I don't want questions, I want firmware fix. or hardware version when it was fixed.

Hi,
The reason I ask how do you connect the RE450 and main router is to confirm their connection type. At the first beginning, you told me you have configured the RE450 access point successfully, while in my opinion, access point means that the RE450 connects to the main router by wired cable to extend the wifi range, not wireless.
But from your description later, it seems it is not true. You connect the RE450 to the 2.4GHz router by wireless and all the leds will go off except the power one when it lost connection. And you cannot see the wifi name at that time.
What is the distance between the main router and RE450? Have you ever tried to move it closer to the main router to test its stability?
What is more, you can hard reset and reconfigure RE450 to give it a shot. And please tell me what the current firmware exactly is.
When and where did you buy it also?
Nice day.

The current firmware is the latest one, if you are willing to do further troubleshooting, please provide the information below and then our engineer can email you and try to fix it.
1. The status page of the RE450 when it stops working
2. Go to system tools-system log and save it after it stopped working.
3. The model number of the main router.
4. The IP and gateway obtained by your computer/cellphone at that point.
Good day.
