i have 2 tl-pa8010 and wish to just buy just the 1 TL-WPA4220 WiFi and not the full kit will they still pair?

Hi,

All the TP-Link powerline adapters are compatible with each other.

While cause the current device is TL-PA8010, it is suggested to buy a 7/8 series, like TL-WPA7510, TL-WPA8630, TL-WPA8630P.

Otherwise, the TL-WPA4220 will limit the speed you get cause it has the 100Mbps ethernet ports and the powerline link rate is 600Mbps, which is much lower than 8010.

And you only need press the pair button to add the new unit.
