I am looking for a Wi-Fi router that suits my needs, the problem is that there are so many models and so many specs and I can't decide which one suits me best.

I have noticed there is some sort of consistency between the model names, for example if the model ends with "D" (TL-WR841ND) it means the antennas are detachable (something that i'm looking for in my potential model).

But I couldn't put my finger on other specifications, for example models with a model name that start with "TL-WR" as opposed "TL-WA", models with "740" in them as opposed to 741 etc (TL-WR740N \ TL-WR741N).

Any help is much appreciated :)

Hi,

D means that the antenna is detachable, TL-WR menas that the deivce s a wireless router, while TL-WAxx means it is a wireless access point/range extender, Like TL-WA901ND/TL-WA850RE.

TL-WR740N/TL-WR741N both have one antenna only and the wireless link speed is 150Mbps, while the configuration or scheme are different. You can get more information from the datasheet or user guide.

Good day.

Thanks!

What about the number after the prefixes? does it say something about the mbps of the router?

Yep, it can be regarded like that.
