M5 1.3.0 Beta Build 20190529 36613 NOT 70702!!
To those that updated via the DECO App to 1.3.0 before it was taken out,
there is a NEWER 1.3.0 which is Build 20190529 36613 which i received via email from TP Link Support (credit to TP link, they ARE listening to our complaints)
http://support.tp-link.com/f/bffa2478b4/?dl=1
the 70702 still had lots of problems, though it didnt drop connects as often as 1.2.8
1) Bad Throughput - can only get 20mb next to a deco? WIRED/Wireless backhaul
2) Authentication failures
3) Poor handoffs
Is anyone else on 36613 ?
at least my deco test speed hit back 900+mb (70702 only had me 700 down, 100 up)
inital testing - the handoffs are faster and throughput at slave nodes are back to normal (getting 400+ on iphone XR and Note 9)
yet to see about the authentication failures
EDIT : 3 DAYS OF USING THIS FIRMWARE AND ITS THE CLOSEST TO PERFECTION. THANK YOU TPLINK

There will be update notification on the Deco APP when the new official firmware is released. Please wait for the new firmware. As for the speed issue, please kindly email the update info to the engineer, we will follow your case via email.

I had hope that this firmware would be more stable.
Unfortunately it's not: today a node was disconnected again :(
And the same thing: LED green + no indication that node is offline in the app.
A node that had ip address 192.168.68.100
After the disconnect the DHCP server gave this ip address to a mobile phone, and i think somehow the node was coming back up, resulting in I think a IP conflict.
I think it is not handy that the DHCP server can give ip-addresses to devices that belong(ed) to nodes.
-> it would be more bullet proof to reserve IP addresses of the nodes and never release them anymore (only when a node is explicty removed from the network)
Ofcourse i can reboot / remove etc, but really: this only works for a couple of days :(
Firmware 1.2.4 proved the system can be stable...

As @Wafer mentioned: the culprit / cause of clients not connecting is VERY probable 5GHZ:
My network was up without any issues for about a week - until today:
I could not connect anymore with WiFi to the main unit (On the client: no errors: after a connect attempt the client just stops), - on all deco's: LED green + no errors in the app).
- All other nodes were still working correct ! - I can connect with 2.4GHz and 5 GHz (I can check this just by going to the rooms where the nodes are located)
- Interestingly enough: the nodes CONNECTED TO THE MAIN UNIT (1 with WiFi and 1 with Ethernet) were also STILL WORKING FINE ! (both on 2.4GHz and on 5Ghz !)
- On the forum I read issue could be 5GHz, so I tried the following: open the app, disable 5GHz (without rebooting any device):
now i was able to connect with a client to the main unit with WiFi again. As soon as I enable 5GHz again, I cannot connect to the main unit with WiFi anymore
I did not reboot the main unit yet, so it is still in this state - maybe this can help with debugging - let me know.
Other observations:
- On 36613 no issues with disconnecting nodes anymore (after disabling beamforming + disabling fast roaming + reserve address for all clients)
- Speed is fine !

Hi,
Good news:
Support asked me to set another Deco unit as main Deco.
So i swapped 2 units, and now a different Deco is the main deco.
After that the connection has been stable for 3 weeks.
So 1.3.0 seems OK
I don't understand however why this works: hardware-wise all units should be identical or not ?
Anyone any ideas why this worked ?

Super weird coincidence: today again a satellite deco lost the connection :(
Only way to get it up is to reboot the device.
I see there is 1.3.1 - Any way to download it ?
Note:
Maybe it would be an idea to make Beta's always available on the forum, with a clear disclaimer: Install on own risk.
This way users can decice to take the risk, which would also help to get more feedback about new beta's
