Certain devices cannot connect to the internet (Archer VR1600v)
I was issued an Archer vr1600v by my ISP (iinet) when I connected to the NBN, and a peculiar issue has arisen. Some of my network devices are no longer able to access the internet. The devices connect to the network without problem, but when these devices attempt to connect to the internet, they are unable to do so. As far as I can tell, the router and the device are both configured correctly.

bandwidth is Australian National Broadband Fibre to the Curb, which is 42.6MB/s download, and i presume about 1/10 of that upload.
these screenshots are from an android pad; unfortunately, firefox on android doesn't allow scrolling within the modem's status pages - this is the best i could get.

Thanks for your reply. From the pic attached, the Archer VR1600v works in wireless router mode.
When the desktop hard to access the web UI or get internet, please click here to check the IP and gateway of your desktop. And try to ping the gateway of the VR1600v which is 192.168.1.1.
Besides, try to reserve an IP address for the desktop on the web UI of the Archer VR1600v to give it a go.
Any updates, please let us know.

i have a desktop gadhet from the "8gadgetpack" collection called Network Monitor II that shows ext. IP, DNS, usage, etc. if i start my machine and it doesn't report a valid external IP, the modem hasn't noticed my computer and i have to restart.
when it didn't work, i tried pinging:

sorry to repsond late.
It failed to ping google.com, and no internet access;
At that time, did it obtain valid IP address and gateway from the VR1600v?
Can it ping the gateway of the Archer VR1600v instead? Which is 192.168.1.1 by default.
Note: Please show us a screenshot of it.
Meanwhile, any suggestion from the tech support of this specific device which has the current issue?
Thanks in advance.

More on this problem.
Attached is a text file describing the ping and VR1600v webpage responses.
Basically ping shows loss of packets to 192.168.1.1 and other external addresses.
Some of the external addresses were not resolved from text to IP addresses.
The VR1600v webpage - basic initially showed no internet connection.
The Advanced webpage was only partially displayed..
Rebooting both the PC and VR1600v did not help.
The problem comes and goes on a relatively short time frame (10's of minutes).
