Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi,

A quick question, how do I re-connect the deco app to an existing network without going through the whole setup again?

*background, new iPhone hence, new installed deco app.

The app keeps asking me to see if my deco LED is blue but after restarting the deco, it always goes back to green (as the network is already running). I do not want to re-do the whole mesh setup again.

Can't the deco app detect I'm on an existing wifi network and try to reconnect to the router?!

Thanks!

Hello,

With your smart phone connected to the Deco M9 plus wifi, can you access internet?

To detect the existing network, please login to the Deco APP with the related TP-Link ID.

You can give it a go first. Wish you good luck.

Yes, I can access the internet. On the app, it doesn't detect any existing network, but it directly brings me to the 'setup screen' and I could not find any way to 'ask' the app to try to detect the existing deco mesh.

Hello,

It is suggested to delete it and reinstall the Deco app to give it a go.

Besides, what is the MAC address of the Deco M9 plus?

And please tell us the TP-Link ID you used to login to the Deco app.

Thanks in advance. Good day.

@Kevin_Z  I have the same exact problem. I uninstalled the app and it still logs right into that screen and the main Deco goes straight to Green because the network still exists I've reset both of my decos as well. so right now the main. Go provides internet, but the slave. Go won't set up because the Deco app thanks I haven't set up the main yet. It's extremely frustrating. I need to be able to control my network with the app. I don't want to have to delete my whole Wi-Fi network. Please help! Right now I can't connect the slave and this defeats the purpose of having a mesh system. Plus my husband is going to lose his mind over this.

@Kevin_Z the issue persists, even after uninstalling, relogging and rebooting both the app and routers.

If it's not possible to resolve would it be possible to enable access through localhost on newer models?

Hi All,

I rebooted the system and it all worked fine.

Good luck,

Can you elaborate on what you did? When you say rebooted the system, do you mean every single deco module? Thanks, - P

I was suffering from this as well.

I reinstalled the Deco app.

Connected to the internet via the Deco Wi-Fi.

As soon as I logged in, it restored my settings and I can control my home network. Awesome.

Check that the username you are using for the app after the same ones you used on the first install.
