Future Consideration Possibility to change WiFi channels
There should be a way to change WiFi channel, or at least the system should change it by itself, choosing the least saturated one. For 2.4GHz it is clear that it will be almost impossible to select a free channel, but on the 5GHz I only see other 2 networks and we are all in the same channel! For at least one the reason may be that our neighboor is using a TP-Link product as well.
I think this is a very basic configuration in any WiFi device, which I would have never though was not going to be possible before buying it.

Whats the status? I also want the ability tot change the backhaul channel.
For a system of this pricepoint it must have this option

@TP-Link_Deco I would also like to add my name to the list of people asking for a way to specify channels. Especially on the 5G, I am seeing my channels overlap with my neighbors while 75% of the available channels are not used at all. And I am definitely seeing spotty wifi performance with lots of drop-outs where more than a few devices are connected at once. Throughput on the Deco has been impressive, but my old wifi (Google) seemed to be more consistent when streaming to multiple speakers.

I'd like to know three things:
1) When will the Deco X90 be available? It was annouced in Jan. 2020, but still does not exist.
2) When/If the X90 is released, who's WiFi 6 will it be based on? Broadcom (YES PLEASE!) or Qualcom/Atheros?
3) Regardless of your WiFi 6 selection, will we be able to change/select channels on ALL bands with this model?

@TP-Link_Deco Hello, Is there a plan to allow the selection of Wifi channel for the Deco P9 also? My Deco P9's seem to have chosen the most congested channels in the street and I am getting quite a poor connection to my devices. It would be good if I could manually select the channel.
Regards,
Mark

Hi, Did you mean Deco would power off itself every day, or the internet connection would be disconnected every day?
Would any Deco turn red when the problem started?
Thank you very much.

Your reply that the request for changing 5GHz default channel has been passed to R&D last year. Now in 2021, everyone working more from home and WiFi usage is essential to most people.
Is there any progress made to unlock 5Ghz channels? It is not rocket science.
Please ask your R&D again, and prioritise it!
It would be very much appreciated.

@TP-Link_Deco Whilst I understand much of the thinking behind your response here, can you please explain why - if the system is intelligent enough to know when there is channel congestion - there is still an option to optimize the system manually? Why isn't this done automatically? On a daily basis I check 'Network Optimization', get the message 'Your current wi-fi channel is congested', select optimize and then everything is supposedly ok. Thirty minutes later, the channel is somehow congested again. What is going on?
