I just installed my new Archer C7. My internet is from FIDO. I have set the fido modem into gateway mode and use the C7 as my router.

My computer is hardwired to the C7.

Since installation, I can no longer play WoW or Diablo. I get disconnected almost immediately on starting a game in Diablo and I get random disconnects in Wow.

I had NO ISSUES with this before installing the C7.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have gotten around the issue by turning on the DMZ option.

I hadn't realized the web pages and things were also running slowly until I turned the DMZ off. Now sites are loading much faster as well. No more disconnects during my gaming.

Since turning DMZ on has fixed it, what was the underlying cause?
