Hello,
Am trying to use a TP-Link TL-WR702N to connect my Samsung SmartTV to a wireless network, using "client mode". For some reason, the TV refuses to accept it is connected, or even connected to a router. Enabling DHCP on the TP-Link does seem to convince the TV that it is connected to a router, but still not to the internet. Strangely though, I can control the TV via the Android app operating on the local network, so clearly it is connected. I assume the SmartTV is trying to get a response on the local network that the TP-Link is filtering out for some reason, but no idea why. Any thoughts ?
(TV plugged into broadband router via ethernet cable works perfectly well, so not an broadband problem)
thanks,
Richard

I have the same problem.
The WR702N connected the the Samsung TV.
TV gets an IP address from the broadband router but the connection test fails.
The TV can access a media server on the LAN without any issues.
Connecting the TV via cable works fine.

the beta firmware works for me (4.19.0 Build 130527 Rel.61282n) but it has been removed from the download page :(
I did not check TL-WR702N_V1_130528 yet
the beta is probably a different branch as the build date is only one day after the beta

I searched the keyword "Samsung TV" in their FAQ, and there is a beta firmware available dealing with compatibility issue with Samsung Smart TV.

The beta firmware works fine but the router still hangs a lot.

I have the same problem with TL-WA701ND and latest firmware (TL-WA701ND_V2_130425). Any suggestion?

And me
2013-08-25 20:56:55
I am having the same issue with a Samsung TV and a TL-WR710N with the latest firmware (which was already pre-installed).
Access to the internet through the device via a Linux laptop is fine whilst the TV gets through various checks (IP only or IP and gateway etc) depending on the different settings I try on it (DHCP/manual/TL as gateway, actual end router as gateway, no DNS, public DNS harcoded etc.) but never gets as far as actually connecting to the internet. A bit annoying since this is the only reason I bought this router which in theory would otherwise be ideal for my purposes.
Does anyone know if there is there any sign of the changes in the beta firmware mentioned above making their way to other models ?
Thanks.
