Model: Archer VR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Archer VR600(EU)_V2_170504

Hi

I have this router which I have just bought.  I was trying to get the USB share to work, network neighbourhood is checked but it doesn't come up, I was trying some different things and managed to get this error message come up.

I don't really want to activate SMB1 as people say its horribly insecure.  So I think the firmware might need to be updated (I have the latest)?  But since it was last updated in 2017 I guess they might not be interested in updating it anymore.  The media server appears to be working but haven't tested it yet.  It would just be nice to use NN to get files on and off the share.

Thanks

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We feed back to our engineers and they will work on it.

Back to your case,  If you do not want to use SMB 1.0 anymore, you can use FTP to easily access the USB memory on your TP-Link router using the Internet browser. Alternatively, you can also use the FTP protocol with e.g. Cyberduck, FileZilla or WinSCP access the memory.

May it help.

Hi

Thanks I didn't think of using FTP.  My browser can access the ftp server but you don't seem to be able to upload to the memory stick using it, but I use Filezilla anyway and that works fine.

Best Regards
