Hi Guys,

Also, my internet connection drops randomly very frequent. Any idea?
Hardware version : TL-WR941HP v2.0
Firmware version 2.0.1 Build 20171225 Rel. 60160
Big thanks !

Hi, thanks for the details.
May I know who is your ISP?
When the WAN LED became orange, can you access the web interface? If so, what is the internet IP address and default gateway at that time?
Meanwhile, can you get the internet from the modem directly when the WR941HP drops connection?
Besides, please follow the instruction below to do some tests and tell me which case you belong to.
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2237/
BTW, please try to modify the wireless channel and security, channel can be 1/6/11, security should be WPA2-PSK, AES, then reboot the router and confirm again.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z you are making the sane questions that you did it to me. Do you need a confirmation ? Please answer why TP-link retired the firmware version TLWR941HP-UN-UP-VER2.0,2,-P1[20191125-rel54756]-2019-11-25_15.11.52 for this router model. What happend with this firmware that is no more available? The last firmware is ver2.0.1-2017125rel 60160 ? Please answer me. Thank you

Hello, sorry about that.
May I know where did you see this firmware version TLWR941HP-UN-UP-VER2.0,2,-P1[20191125-rel54756]-2019-11-25_15.11.52? It is still available on the official website, as you can see on the global website:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-wr941hp/#Firmware
If you found it is not available on the local website, please give me the directly link site and we will confirm, thanks.

@Kevin_Z when I asked for my problem the first aswer was to upgrade the firmware. So I download it from TP LInk site in the page off this router under the menu firmware. After all , send to my email a special version B test firmware 2.0.1 and I install it. This firmware was send to me. It doesn't resolved the problem off the wifi hang aleatory. So I re install the previuos firmware and when I looked for it to download again, it was no more available. And I had made a copy off this version previously. But the question is present, why it is not available ? What happened ?

Hello Everyone,
I have been facing the same issue for so long and managed to solve the problem. The problem start to appear when I make the internet connection type to dynamic IP (advanced--> Network--> internet-->internet connection type). When I changed this option to static IP it seems that it solved the problem!! so weird. I have been running the router in static IP for the last two days without any issue, where before I used to have the connection drop every single minute. I will keep running the same configuration and keep you posted.
Kind Regards,

@Moutaz thanks for your solution, you have made more for this problems than TP link . You find the error, so TP Link must fixed it in the firmware and pay you. I my country I need to specifiy that Internet connection is via PPoE, so it is no usefull for me, but as an computer system engenier with more than 39 years off experience in servers & lan enterprise systems tell you that TP Link firmware has bugs, more than 30 reports about the same problems, more than 2 years and they don't do nothing more than applied the protocol asking for the same questions to every one of us, doing nothing. Not even to trace the code to see what it is wrong. I know this is home, the last step of his negocy, so it is the interest in solving. Really can you thinkg that a firmaware off a product has more than 30 issues marking the same problems and there is no a new version in almost 2 years? Sorry, this the reality. I really apreciate your effort @Moutaz.

@aclg230560 I totally agree with you, Tplink has to update and fix the firmware. This is the second router I bought from Tplink this year and with the same errrors. I have ac4200, I am still getting the problem. I think they have to update the fireware
