Can't put a switch between ISP's router and TP-Link AP (which was my router before)?

I recently got a new router from my ISP and decided to turn my TL-WR1043ND into an AP instead (following instructions in https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-87.html exactly). The 1043ND works perfectly as an AP when I plug it directly into one of the ISP's router's LAN ports. However, I need to put this AP into another room. When I plug it into another room on the home network via a gigabit switch, it no longer works. I can connect to the AP, but the AP is not connected to the internet. It's not cabling either becoz that ethernet port in that room currently works for other devices and I'm using the same patch cables.

Anyone knows why? Do i have to do something else? To summarize...

ISP's modem -> ISP's router -> 1043ND as an AP = works

ISP's modem -> ISP's router -> gigabit switch -> 1043ND as an AP = no internet connection

It seems it's the switch which influence the AP to work. Is your switch a plug and play switch or L2/L3 switch which need to to some settings?

On the switch , there should be serveral different port, can you try to use a diffent port to test the connection?

If you connect your computer direclty to the switch, can you get internet?

If yes, what's the IP address you can get on your phone when connect your phone to the AP's Wi-Fi?
