Hi,

I purchased this card about a month ago (maybe slightly longer) for my desktop PC as we purchased a new wireless router. The router is wireless N, and all laptops in the house connect to it quite fast (approx 15mbps download speeds).

My desktop is only getting 2 bars of signal for it, when our laptops get full signal in the same spot. Furthermore, the connection speed on my desktop is about 75% slower than the laptops.
I went to device manager and clicked on "Properties -> Advanced" for the adapter and noticed that it only says 802.11b (i.e. wireless b). Could this be the issue? If not, can anyone help?

I have a same adapter TL-WN881ND without any problem, which is 11N standard. You may try to update the driver for this adapter.

I downloaded the latest drivers from the "download" section on this website today. It was the same as I already had. Didn't make a difference :(

You may try the channel 1/6/11 on your router.

How about the current wireless mode of your router?
Besides, you may go to device manager and clicked on "Properties -> Advanced" for the adapter. What is Connection speed and duplex mode, automatic?
To get a better signal, try to adjust angel of antennas on TL-WN881ND and you'd better test different channels one by one. A chipmaker's driver may be helpful.

Current wireless of the router is definitely not the issue. I've used 3 other laptops in the exact same spot my computer is in, and all get 5 bars. One of the laptops is very old too.

Where do I see this duplex mode and connection speed? All I noticed is that it had 802.11b (no option to change either). Please check the attached screen shot.

Veery sorry for having to re-bump this, but re-bump I must. I have the exact same symptoms as brownsound01, and I'm very concerned, as a month's worth of digging has yielded no answer. Any links to a thread that might help, or a solution to this will be VERY much appreciated.
