Maybe you can have a try to set a solid channel like 6 or 11 on your root router and try to reconfigure the wa830 according to the FAQ357on their website. Good luck !

Does wa830 work properly on your 3rd floor? Normally, to ensure a stable connection, you'd better not put a client device after a range extender.

When the laptop disconnects, you may try to access internet with a network cable to wa830.
" if i reset the router at 2nd floor, everthing normal again." Your belkin router? Restart or reset? If manually disconnect your wireless connection and reconnect, is it working?
It seems connection between your router and wa830 is unstable, you may try different channels on your root router, of if possible, upgrade firmware for your router.
Sometimes, to reset and reconfigure wa830 is a good try.

hi guys ...
i have the same problem .... i was searching on the internet a solution and i came here.

i have a "Thomson TG784n" as a internet router on the 1st floor ... and i have on the 3rd floor the TP-LINK WA830RE working as range extender ... witch is connected to the laptop by cable ...
and the internet connection goes down every 15 minuts...it stays down for about 1 or 2 minuts and it reconects again by it self ... this hapens a few times ... and then it loses connection for good...i have to restart the range extender and some times the laptop also and all comes to life again.

can somebody give me a sugestion for this problem ?

I have registered in TPlink forum just for this.

TO TELL TPLINK THAT THIS HARDWARE -----> WA830RE V2 IS THE BIGGEST CRAP I EVER SEEN.

tried with WDS, without wds, with a TPLINK router and an Asus, both had the same problems! would go crash after a day or so.

only solution was to flash an unofficial firmware to make it work! THIS IS NO SOLUTION! i bought 4 of this and none worked decently.

dont waist your time you have nothing to tell TL, log into Polland TL forum using Chrome (for the translation) here http://tplink-forum.pl/index.php and scroll down to alterantive FW, click Gargoyle and look for your file 830RE V2 flash your 830, as Jimasek posted, After installation you have to choose English language in main menu., that piece of crap as you call will become the best router, repeater, you have ever had, once there
Gargoyle Defaults
IP Address:192.168.1.1
Password password
User root
What do you have to lose at this time.

Can you please give a direct link to that ?? Have searched but not found anything.
Thank you

Do not use Gargoyle!

I followed the recommendation to install Gargoyle. Now the RE doesn't work at all. It is not possible to log in or even reset it to factory firmware or other settings. It is now completely useless!

Before you flash a router you have to read at their forum tutorials if you flashed the correct file, it is possible to log into interface and is possible to go back to stock FW, post your issue at gargoyle forum, general discussion section, router model and version, the whole name file you flashed, log with same user name to identify you.

Thanks but this is the second TP Link wireless RE I have had and they are just unstable - they work for a while then stop and I waste hours getting them to work again only for them to stop working again the next day. I should not need to flash the router - it should be supplied with proper firmware in the first place. I have ordered a competitor product and hope that will be more stable.
