You receive "This operation is not allowed for remote management" if you try to upgrade firmware on TP-Link 1043N v5 using for example DD-WRT

Do you remotely login the web UI of this router?
If yes, it will be normal and we need to update firmware from local access.

I got the same message on a TP LINK 1043 V5 router. I am connected via a LAN cable on the LAN interface on the laptop and the Ethernet port 1 on the router. Then I entered in the web UI and tried the update to dd-wrt.

Whats wrong?

What is the right course of action?

Hey, how about if you try to udpate the official firmware from tp-link website not dd-wrt?
Do you still get the same error?
