I am looking for some tech advice here is my config

Laptop connects as wireless client to D7-1a which is connected via wireless bridge to D7-2b connected by wired connection on Lan1 port to ISP DSL Router which is 192.168.0.1

It DID work for a month but now I cannot get Internet access.

I CAN still connect to D7-2b via wireless bridge between D7-2b and D7-1a and see the TPlink admin pages of both D7-1a and D7-2b but I cannot connect to ISP router.

ISP Router has DHCP 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.40

I have tried to set D7-2b as 192.168.0. 50 (outside DHCP range of ISP router) but still no internet (I also tried it as a reserved IP of 192.168.0.30 by putting Mac address in ISP router but still did not work).

I can't set Static IP on Lapop as needs to connect to other Wifi Networks.

I have tried setting DHCP of D7-2b to relay from ISP router, that too does not work.

I do not understand why it worked before but not now, nothing was changed, the only thing I can think of is that maybe DHCP lease from ISP router expired and for some reason cannot get a new connection.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

which port on D7-2b is connected to ISP router? LAN 1 or WAN?
if it is lan1, have you disable DHCP server on D7-2b? make sure there is no ip conflict.
laptop to WiFi of D7-2b, internet works or not?
laptop wired to D7-2b, internet works or not?
Laptop wired to D7-1a, internet works or not? what is the ip address and default gateway?

Yes DHCP disabled on both D7's (I did try with it on D7-2b when it stopped working, also tried setting relay.

laptop to WiFi of D7-2b, internet works or not?

No Internet when I connect directly to D7-2b via wi-fi

laptop wired to D7-2b, internet works or not?

Have not tried this but console of D7-2b does not show any sign of seeing the ISP DSL Router

Laptop wired to D7-1a, internet works or not? what is the ip address and default gateway?

Not trying to do any wired connections, I did try to connect a wire to D7-1a to see if it would allow a PC connected to that wired connection to see internet.

Everything is on one subnet

ISP DSL Router is 192.168.0.1
ISP DSL Router has DHCP 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.40

D7-2b is 192.168.0.253
D7-1a is 192.168.0.253

I have tried to set D7-2b as a reserved IP of 192.168.0.30 within ISP DSL Router DHCP range Mac address of D7-2b in ISP DSL Router config (an option it offers) but still did not work).

I have confirmed Wireless Bridge to D7-2b is working I can access console of it from connection to D7-1a but no DHCP address from ISP DSL Router is provided so eventually Laptop reverts to Mictosoft 169.x.x.x address.

What I do not understand is that it DID work for a month.

I have also tried factory resets on the D7's.

you need to make sure that D7-2b is getting internet from ISP router. troubleshoot like this.
first test the cable from isp router. put that cable to a laptop to test internet. if no, then it is related to isp router issue.
if yes, . Rese the D7-2b---login D7-2b- change it lan ip address to the one you want---configure wireless settings---disable DHCP server-----connect lan 2 from d7-2b to isp router. use another cable to connect laptop to lan 3 of d7-2b. make sure internet is working. if no, try another port.
if yes, configure WDS on D7-1a. you don't need to enable wds on d7-2b.

I took the cable from the ISP router to the D7-2b TPlink router and plugged it into a laptop, it worked fine.

This suggested to me that the fault lay with the D7-2b so I swapped it with the other TPlinl router D7-1a, I reset the settings on this so it was no longer a wireless bridge and to keep things simple I just connected from Laptop wirelessly to the D7-1a TPRouter,

It did NOT provide internet!

So this seems to definately be a TP link issue.

I have many years of experience, with any other router, you just plug the thing in and they work.

So what can it be, what hidden setting or gremlin prevents a TP-Link router from just working like any other cable router?
