Hello all,

I'm new to TP Link products. Took a chance at purchasing the C2300 as it was on sale and had all the features I was looking for. The USB3.0 port was something I thought would be a fantastic addition. I pulled my 6TB drive off my PC and configured it onto the router. As soon as I did that, the CPU usage jumped to 100% with no fluctuations. It just stays there.

I tried this with the original SW FW v1.0 & just recently upgraded to software v2.0. The HW version is 1.0 with no upgrade available from what I see.

Is there any reason why the CPU jumps to 100%?

Is this a design flaw?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated and have yourselves a wonderful day.

When it stays at 100%, do you notice anything unusual? like the router becomes very slow to respond? It could be a display error if the router still works properly.
What you can try: disable media server function; if there are too many files in your hard drive, that may cause some problem too.

Are you sharing via ftp or smb? If it's smb, probably the client are trying to use SMBv2 but the server (samba3) is limited on NT1 (SMBv1). Then the server hangs ...
