Hello, I have the last firmware and I want to use OpenVPN connection with the router. The connection can be established and works fine. Untill the router is restarted. After restart, the certificate is lost and the connection cannot be established again. Can you confirm the behavior or help? Thank you!

Fix for me (using a C2300):
Log into router, click on "Advanced", choose the "System Tools" section, and "Time Settings" under that. Set both NTP servers to "pool.ntp.org" and reboot the router. Any existing OpenVPN configuration should now work again.
Explanation:
I was having a similar problem on the C2300 -- an exceptionally good router except for this bug. After some hard research and experimentation, I figured out my specific issue: the router's time.
Like most encrypted communication protocols on the internet, OpenVPN's protocols require the two communicating parties (VPN client and VPN server) have time that's roughly calibrated. The router calibrates its own time via NTP through nist.gov's servers. For some reason, the C2300's firmware dislikes these NTP servers, and so for me its time was perpetually stuck in the past leading to the VPN issues.
Luckily, pool.ntp.org works -- I set both time servers to this, problem solved. It pulls the right time after booting up, and OpenVPN works fine after reboot now, even with the latest firmware.

I have the same proble,. Changing the time server did not help. Beta firmware link no longer valid. Does TP-link help?

Hey guys,
I have been having the same issue for ages as well as the VPN server would stop working after a while not just after a reboot.
As of tonight I was successfully able to reboot the router without losing the ability to connect to the VPN server.
I realised the generated certificate will use your current public IP address which is dynamically assigned to your router by your ISP which will either renew after a while, or can potentially renew after a reboot.
These are the steps i followed,
1. Set up DDNS using the TP-Link DDNS service.
2. Generated a new VPN certificate.
3. Download current certificate and edit with notepad.
4. Edit the ip address after remote (for me it was on line 12) which should be ressemble the form remote 123.45.6.789 1234
5. Replace the 123.45.6.789 with your DDNS name e.g remote myddns.com 1234.
6. Save the file and import.
