Not sure if anyone still needs help, but I discovered that this relates to the port which has been set for remote management on my router. If you got to the Advanced menu, then System, and then Administration, there was a remote HTTPS port set up which was preventing DMZ being enabled. As soon as this was turned off I was able to save without issue. 

 

I was working on a VR400 but i suspect it will be the same for the VR600.
