I was researching to zero in on buying a Wi-Fi extender for my home and I found the following two options which fit my budget:

TL-WA850RE: http://www.tp-link.in/products/details/cat-10_TL-WA850RE.html
TL-WA855RE: http://www.tp-link.in/products/details/cat-10_TL-WA855RE.html

While Amazon reviews ( https://www.amazon.in/TP-Link-TL-WA850RE-300Mbps-Universal-Extender/dp/B00A0VCJPI/) of TL-WA850RE is great and is little cheaper compared to TL-WA855RE, but I am kind of confused as TL-WA855RE has external antennas and is priced more too. Even TP Link page mentions TL-WA850RE as "Hot".

Some of the criteria on which I was trying to compare the two are:

0. Is there any difference in functionality of being a Wi-Fi extender between the two apart from its look and model number?
1. Which one is more latest? From release/firmware point of view
2. Which one has more Wi-Fi range and signal strength? Does the external antennas in TL-WA855RE really increase its range compared to TL-WA850RE?

Any help will be appreciated.
