There is no difference between the US and EU firmware for the RE650. (You can compare the older firmware versions - the files are all 100% identical.)

I've installed the new 1.0.5 version from the US website on my EU RE650 without issue. You can probably fix yours with a factory reset.

Thanks, I did a binary diff and the previous firmwares are indeed identical. A factory reset did the trick! Do you know if the US and EU firmwares will stay identical for the RE 650?

I have no way to know this for sure, but I work under the assumption that they'll remain the same.

I thought that the RE650 had a built in auto update checker as well as a manual update option?

I have the RE450 and the latest firmware for my device in the UK support page is dated 11th Jan 2017!

Reading the articles below is really putting me off from buying anymore tplink products!
