Why don't powerline adapters use ground pin?

Greetings to all,
I've been pondering this title question and so far I've got nothing. Recently I've got AV1200 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit...I switched from D-link, because stability issues. And to me it's a bit strange, that neither of these adapters(including TP link advertised MIMO) are using ground pin.
Why not use ground?...is not ideal signal wire, because normally isn't used by appliances, so no interference?
Adapters work fine btw...much better than D-link(although it was just 1000Mb/s version)
