Model : Archer VR600

Firmware Version : 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0057.0 Build 160614 Rel.41735n

ISP : Eclipse

Hi

I have replaced my aging TD-W895 router with an Archer VR600. Internet connectivity is fine BUT I can SEE my local network but I can't access shares. I can ping nodes by IP but not by name. All worked fine with the old set-up. Is there a way to transfer settings from one (XXX.conf file) to another (XXX.bin file) ?

Or does anyone have a suggestion as to what I have missed in setting up the new device ?

I don't think the config file can be uploaded to different model. Though I do know that TP-LINK device doesn't support Net-Bios, but according to LLMNR protocol, 2 windows PCs can ping the host name fine.

I should have mentioned that both client & server are running Ubuntu 16.04.

Any reason for that ? I would expect a router to be able to handle simple file sharing as a given.

As they don't support Net-Bios. :(
