Bandwidth throttled to 90mbs every day
Bandwidth throttled to 90mbs every day
I have 2 X50s that I've had for a couple of years and they were brilliant for over 18 months... but lately, every morning I get up, I can only get 90mbs download and about 3mbs upload.
I normally get 960/100.
This happens on all my devices (Windows, osx and iOS) so it's not a device thing.
if I reboot the Decos, it goes back to 960/100.
if I connect to my main routers wifi it's at full speed too (before rebooting the Decos)... so the incoming speed is fine.
ive seen lots of other posts about similar thing happening to others... so its got to be problem with an update we received at some point as it worked fine for 18 months and nothing else has changed on my setup.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what's happening and how to stop it happening please?

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.
Can I have the current firmware version of the Deco X50?
Here are some suggestions for your reference:
1. Use a new Ethernet cable to connect the ISP modem/router to another Ethernet port of the main Deco X50.
2. Please refer to this link to set a different Deco X50 as the main Deco: How to replace the main Deco with another Deco
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

@Devotee101 Hi
I just updated to the new firmware the other day (1.6.4 Build 25011612 Rel. 44161) but it's still happening - in fact, it seems more often now and I have to reboot both X50's 2 or 3 times a day now.

Hi, Thanks for the update.
How about testing the latest 1.6.7 firmware here for Deco X50_V1:
Deco X50/X55_V1_1.6.7 Optimized the Client Network Stability

Thanks for the link to the new firmware... I tried upgrading it and it upgraded the main X50 (Living Room) but didn't do the 2nd one (Dining Room):
The instructions said it would update them all. I've rebooted the 2nd one several times. Any idea how I can update the 2nd one?
Also, this morning, I had the same problem as before on the main one (which is updated) and my bandwidth was still throttled to around 90/2 so looks like this firmware doesn't fix the problem anyway.
Any other thoughts on why it's suddenly started doing this?
Thanks
Adam

Hi, Have you replaced a new Ethernet cable to connect the main Deco to the ISP modem?
It is also suggested to connect the ISP modem to another Ethernet port of the main Deco.
Please unplug other Ethernet equipment from the main Deco.
The IP address of the individual Deco can be found on the Deco APP. Then you can log into its separate UI for firmware upgrade:
Please also save a copy of the web UI system log when the speed drops to 100 Mbps again:How to submit Deco APP log
(Rebooting Deco will clear up the system logs, and please save the log before rebooting Decos)
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Thanks for your response David
I've managed to upgrade the 2nd X50 to the 1.6.7 Firmware using it's IP address now - didn't realise I could do that!
I've plugged the main Deco in directly to my ISP Modem - it was going via a Switch before - and have used a different socket. There is no other equipment connected to it physically, just lots of wireless devices like all my smart bulbs etc.
After a reboot, it shows it's connected and working as before, but immediately went to the throttled speed again.
I have submitted an email request with the Log attached so hopefully you can access that?
Regards
Adam

@Devotee101 Check Qos and turn it OFF and also turn on auto reboot schedule for better performance.

Hi, thank you for the logs. I did receive your email.
- If it is in wireless router mode, please make sure the QoS is disabled or set to 1000Mbps download/upload.

Ive seen QoS mentioned on many other posts where people are having the same problem as me... doesn't seem to help any of them though.
Also, I can't see a setting for this in the web UI or the App... do you know where it is please?
thanks
