Hi,

I am planning to replace my linksys routers ( I used 4 currently ).

Just checking if this configuration work ?

1st floor -  main/parent router BE550

2nd floor - satellite/child router BE550 ( wireless backhaul )

3rd floor -  satellite/child router BE550 ( wireless backhaul )

4th floor -  satellite/child router BE230 ( wired backhaul from 3rd floor node ).   separated by a closed door, hence use wired backhaul.

Each about 16 ft away.

Internet -- modem ---- 1st floor BE550  >   ( open area  16 ft away 2nd floor BE550 ) >  ( open area 3rd floor BE550 )--wired backhaul to 4th floor BE230.

Any better suggestion?

Can use lesser nodes ?

1. to begin with, why do you need such expensive wifi7 routers

for the price of similar devices, business access points omada are already being considered

https://www.omadanetworks.com/us/business-networking/all-omada/

2. Access points must be connected by cable. This is the key to stable and high-quality operation of the wireless network.

3. In order to understand the exact number of access points, you need to know the building plan. area.

but as a rule it is done like this: one point - one floor (in case one point can really cover one floor with the 5ghz range

Hi  @spiderman32,

If you need knowledge mesh networking and not necessarily easymesh technology, you can also consider Deco Mesh equipment.

For choosing the right deco, please refer to How to choose the right Deco?

Hi,

I'm not questioning your choice of router as thats down to yourself but I'm trying to understand the need for so many of them,

I could understand if you have solid concrete floors between each level as the signal qualities would definitely take a big hit.

Most of the routers are or have easymesh implemented now.

I have a multi story house with thick internal solid brick walls,

Currently I'm using in my property 3x Ax72 routers,

2 inside my house and one down the bottom of my garden in my outbuilding.

The 2 routers i have inside my house are more than capable of providing full solid stable signal and some ( down my street ) even when I have the transmission power turned down to low and i have my routers on the ground floor and one at the very top 2nd floor.

Are you sure you need 4 routers/AP as to me that sounds a bit excessive unless as I said you live in a property with solid concrete floors between each floor or you have a very large property

Thanks for your reply..  I am not sure about the coverage of newer products.  I am currently using Linksys triband wifi 5 and have to use 4 of these.

Thanks..

so which is better ? Deco or ARcher for mostly wifi connections and mesh system.

is BE25 better than BE230?

how about 2 units of BE65 and 2 units of BE25 for 4 levels house?
