Hi,

I'm hoping this is a simple fix or just something I've missed.

I recently purchased a new 3 pack Deco x68 to replace my old Google Nest Wifi system. Initially it was great. Setup was a breeze and was up and running in less than 10min.

Since the new system has been up I have noticed that devices keep dropping off and saying they are offline, mainly smart devices like lights and plugs but also smart air conditioners and other appliances.

This means that I am now unable to start these remotely or by using google home voice commands or automations as when the device is shown as offline these don't work.

I was running my old google system for over 4 years and never had this issue.

Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.

  @Chook71

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the model numbers of these smart home devices? How many smart devices do you have in total?

Does it help to connect these devices to the dedicated 2.4 GHz IOT network?

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Please disable "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming" on the Deco APP>More>Advanced.

2. Turn off "Mesh Technology" for the smart home devices:

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Saturday

  Hi @David-TP

Happy New Year

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have a total of 55 IoT devices

24 lights
Brand: Lenovo (Tuya - Smart Life)

Smart Plugs
8 x Lenovo (Tuya - Smart Life)
2 x TP-Link (Tapo)
1 x Arlec Grid Connect (Tuya - Smart Life)

Other
2 x Goldair Tower Fans (Tuya - Smart Life)
1 x Split system aircon (Rinnai - AC Freedom)
1 x Dishwasher (Bosch - Home Connect)
1 x Samsung Smart TV (SmartThings)
4 x Reolink WiFi Camera (ReoLink)

Google Devices

9 x Google Home Mini Smart Speakers (Google Home)
2 x Google Chromecast HD (Google Home)

I have put the App currently used to set these devices up next to them.

All smart devices are also shared with the Google Home App for voice and automation.

I have set up a dedicated IoT network and started to migrate devices over.
As suggested I have turned off "Mesh Technology" for the smart home devices and disabled "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming"

So far, I have moved the following:

4 x Reolink WiFi Camers
4 x Google Home Mini Smart Speakers
1 x Google Chromecast HD
1 x Arlec Grid Connect
1 x Lenovo Smart Plug
1 x Lenovo Smart Bulb

What I have noticed so far:

Google Home App is still reporting devices going offline.
Sometimes the associated vendor App also shows the device as offline and other times it does not.

Response time on some of the devices is very slow. I use to click on it in either the Google Home or Smart Life app and it would instantly turn on or off. Currently, it is 5-10 seconds from when I select the device and it responds. For some devices, this appears to be only the first time you interact with it after it has been added, after that the response is instant.

Unfortunately, for some reason, a number of the Lenovo lights and plugs will not connect to the new network after being reset, so I have lost those devices for the moment. I'm not sure if it's due to their age or something else, as some connect straight away, and others just refuse to connect at all.

I will have to work out if/how I can move the Dishwasher and Air conditioner.
