Hi,

I am trying to find out the best TP link solution for my set up. I have just had a garden office built and I want to etend very good wifi coverage to the room. I have sky max broadband and router. I have instlled Cat6 cabling from the house to the garden office, but because of the way the house is thi could not go directly to the router. My plan was to install a WAP where the Cat6 comes in and attach an ethernet cable to the port and do the same in the garden room. I'm no techie, but that appeared to make sense. Can anyone clarify if I am correct in thinking this will work and if so what would be the best product to do this with.

If I am completely off base and need something different then please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.

 Hi @Terry11

May I know if you want this WAP to wirelessly extend the network of the main router? Do you want to place it indoors or outdoors?

I suggest you first confirm what the model of the Sky router is? Does it have the Easy Mesh technology?

Because if it is to be used as the network source for the garden office, I think it would be more appropriate to use a router that supports Easy Mesh to extend the network:TP-Link Easymesh routers

If the Sky router does not support the Easy Mesh function, you can also consider the range extender to wirelessly extend the network of the main router: TP-Link Range extender

If you want to add a WAP placed outdoors, you can consider the Business product: Business products
