Deco X50 Matter support?
Hello, I want to buy a router and hope it will be compatible with future smart devices. What does it mean Deco X50 has planned support? Will it be added for sure? When?

@Marvin_S Thanks! Just to be sure, I understand you correctly. Deco X50 is already supported, but it is not yet Matter certified. Am I right?

Hi, I am afraid not I cannot agree with you. From the official website where you did the screenshot above, we can see "TP-Link Matter-Certified Devices", right? I guess not all hardware versions of Deco X50 supports this feature, so it is said "Planned".

I'll reply here rather than start another thread.
It might be obvious to some but I still can't find where the X50 (2-pack AX3000 mesh) definitely stands in regard to Matter support, despite having gone through this site and other TP-Link sites. The X50 mesh doesn't appear to support Matter devices now.
I am not concerned if I have to purchase a TP-Link hub to work with Matter but don't want to add something into my Smarthome system if it's unnecessary.
Going through the advice as to how the Android Deco app will connect to Matter devices is not helpful as the app doesn't show the 'Matter' alternative to select. So I assume from that my X50 doesn't currently support Matter.
Firmware:
My Android Deco app shows:
"Your Deco Home Wi-Fi System is currently up-to-date. Enjoy!
Firmware version: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 400100"
Is this a problem of it not updating the Firmware for some reason?

My X50 also doesn't seem to support Matter even today.

Hi, What are the hardware version and firmware version of your Deco X50?
-You can find the hardware version on the bottom product label.
For now, Deco X50_V1/V1.2/V3 with the latest firmware verions have added Matter Support. However, Deco X50_V1.3_1.2.10 hasn't yet.

@David-TP , it is in fact version 1.33. Since a long time has passed, I don't really trust that TP-Link will ever add this.
