Hi

Recently bought a Deco BE65 https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/deco/deco-be65/

i've set it up via the deco app, but when I access the web interface locally I only get a very basic interface. No way of changing any of the settings. Basically a network map, advanced shows a status screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks

This is by design.

  @Alexandre.

Argh thats annoying, i had Deco about 2 years ago and it had a full interface. Why would they remove that?
Might have to return it in that case.

Thanks anyway

I have Deco since October 2020 and it never had more than rudimentary UI, that is mostly useful for manual firmware update.

What Deco model you had before that didn't need Deco app and had fully functioning Deco Web management interface?

I cant remember now, maybe it was an Archer router. I tried a few at the same time. I will see how it goes with the app interface, just use to using a wired web interface for the last 30 years. Maybe its the future?!

There is not much to configure in Deco mesh anyway. After initial excitement of having WiFi mesh at my house and playing with Deco app, I found I now only check it occasionally out of boredom, just to see what client connected to which WiFi mesh node. Which (client connection to node) should be irrelevant, as this is WiFi mesh.

I haven't made configuration changes in Deco app for more than a year.

Just note that Deco app communicates with Deco mesh not directly, but through "TP-Link cloud." If TP-Link decides to sunset Deco mesh product and shutdown their Deco supporting servers, Deco mesh at your house will still run but there wouldn't be ability to manage and configure it. Meaning migration to a different brand of WiFi mesh.
