TPLink VR600 and NowTV broadband
Hi,
I have FTTC Now Broadband and have the working happily with the SKY SR203 router.
I am trying to get this to work with TP-link Archer VR600 but am getting no internet connection.
I followed the steps in the post below but this did not work for me. I have updated the firmware to the latest version.
https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/264802?sortDir=ASC&page=2
The step i follow are:
1)Perform a hard reset of the VR600
2)Connect the DSL connection to the BT socket
3)Start the router
4)Connect my mobile to the VR600 wifi and go to the management IP (192.168.1.1) and start the quick setup process
5) IP List: Sky(MER)_VDSL
6) Username: abcdefgh@nowtv
7) Password: 1234567890abcdef
The router internet light goes orange and the network map shows no internet connection. I am using my mobile to get to the management page as i do not have access to a laptop.
I have also tried the abcdefgh@skydsl username but this does not work either.
Included some images of my internet settings and the network map.

Hi,it is recommended to call your ISP to confirm all the configurations including the username to see if it is @nowtv, @skydsl or others like o2broadband.co.uk mentioned by another user: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/661624?replyId=1340928

@Sunshine I called Now broadband and they said they do not provide the username and password to use a third party router.
This seesm to be the case from other post i have seen
I have tried all the below combinations and none of them worked.
install@o2broadband.co.uk / <blank>
install@o2broadband.co.uk / install
abcdefgh@nowtv / 1234567890abcdef
abcdefgh@skydsl / 1234567890abcdef
Note i have FFTC and not FFTP. My current router is a SR103.
Is there a way to confirm if the DSL port on my router is working? Reason i ask is each time i tried each of the above username and passwords it came back quickly with a connection issue.

Hi, to confirm if the DSL connection is working or not, please check DSL light status on the VR600, solid on DSL light means DSL synchronization is complete.

@Sunshine this is the status of the lights on router after I try those username and password combinations.
Any other suggestions on what to try?

Based on the picture, DSL light is off, it is between power and Internet lights.
Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot:
1. Verify that you have purchased the correct TP-Link device for your internet plan, VR600 V3 supports ADSL and VDSL line, the cable plugged in DSL port should be RJ11 telephone line.
2. Remove the DSL splitter and replace a new DSL cable if possible.
3. Reset the modem by pressing the reset pinhole at the back of the modem for 7-10 seconds while it is powered on.

1. Verified the router version is compatible as per below image
2. I am using the same wall master socket S3 and DSL cable with the VR600 that is currently working with the existing working Sky SR103. So there should be no issue with this. See below image
3. In have reset the VR600 multiple times during my testing, doesn't help.

Have you tried contacting TP-Link support for assistance? They might be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or guidance to get your Archer VR600 working with stainless steel herb grinder FTTC Now Broadband. Hang in there, hopefully, a solution is just around the corner.

@mikeharing72 hi yes raised a ticket but not really progressing. Might have better luck with the steel grinder you shared 😉

Hi, since the DSL connection works fine on your other DSL modem, it is recommended to contact the retailer where you bought it or the local support team to check the warranty and get it replaced.

@Sunshine is there any way from the logs to confirm if the issue is the DSL port is faulty or if it is working and there is an some other issue why they connection is not happening? I checked the logs on the router and they are in debug and there is not much detail.
