Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Regards to all,

I would like to buy Archer AX73 V2.0, so I'm interested in what is the difference from V1.0 in terms of hardware (which CPU, amount of RAM) and what else is different about V2.0 than V1.0, what is everything improved?

Thanks!

@zexoni70

The processors for both V1.0 and V2.0 are 1.5 GHz Triple-Core CPUs, you can find the following specifications:

https://www.tp-link.com/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax73/#specifications

All the basic and advanced features should be the same on both versions, manufacturers generally update the package and product label to mark the package or production revision.

  @Liverpool20   Hello ,    so  why  manufacturer ( TP-LINK )  update the package and product label to mark the package or production revision.

      In short, does the manufacturing process use optimized processes ? and / or does it use other brands of components ?  for example, for memory and optimizes some electronic component on the router's motherboard?   Because I say that there will be some difference in the hardware between 1.0, 2.0 and 2.20...  ( for AX73 in this case )  , because  then the firmware download file , is different depending the hardware version  ,   but no one specifies exactly which component.

  @Edinet

According to photos on the Internet the AX73 V1.0 uses a Broadcom BCM43684 chip for the 5 GHz, 4804 Mbps Wi-Fi part, while the AX73 V2.0 uses the newer Broadcom BCM6715 chip for the same purpose.

I am just guessing here, but it could be that at some point Broadcom informed TP-Link that they won't be making BCM43684 chips much longer and recommeded they switch to the BCM6715, which they then did.

Dear @woozle,

You are absolutely right, the AX73 V1 has the older Broadcom BCM43684 built in, while the newer AX73 V2 uses the newer Broadcom BCM6715 chip.

Attached are shortcuts to links where the pictures show exactly which chip are implemented in AX73 V1 and AX73 V2.

AX73 V1:

AX73 V2:

But that's good and it's a benefit of AX73 version V2, because the BCM6715 chip is newer and it replaced the older BCM43684.

@zexoni70  thank you by your info and links  .     do you know  any retail or online shop ,  where we can buy the  AX73 V2 ?

all the people using  AX73  that I asked ,   have the v1.0   ,   at least in Europe.

I would like to know where I can buy version 2.0, in a store in Europe

(there is also a AX73  v2.20 hardware version )

Thank you

Cheers

  @Edinet

My AX73 V2 was bought in Serbia, and as far as I can see the sticker on the box, all those routers come from Hungary, so try Hungary if you are close to that country, or you can order products online from that country.

Just emphasize to the seller that you only want the AX73 hardware version V2, as I requested.

And as for the AX73 V2.2, I don't think it's officially released in Europe yet, but don't worry so much about which version it is because from what I see in the reviews the AX73 V1 also works great and has no problems! smiley

  @Edinet

Yes. According the photos in the documents for which zexoni70 provided the links, it appears that only the Broadcom chip that handles the 5GHz Wi-Fi is different between AX73 V1.0 and AX73 V2.0.

 Dear  @Edinet ,

Unfortunately there is still no information about the differences for AX73 between V2.0 and V2.20 versions...

If you noticed for the US market there is no hardware marked V2.2, only V1, V1.6 and V2, so I wouldn't experiment with updating US firmware to EU hardware and vice versa.

But at least it is a good indication that the latest firmware has been released for the hardware for the US market, so I expect it soon for the EU market and for my device V2, because according to some rule, everything is first marketed to the US market and only later for the rest of the world!

As I saw now, the latest firmware for the US V1 hardware was also released!
