Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: N/a

Hi i have three Deco M4s and they work perfectly. Is there any way of assigning a device to one particular Deco so it doesn't keep changing to different ones around the house as it causes problems with one of my devices. My TV has connected to the node that is furthest from it so is getting very slow broadband. I have 3 items that are connected to this node that are fixed place items and have turned off mesh technology for these items and they stay connected to that one node. When my TV was connected to the nearest node with the strongest broadband i turned off the mesh technology for the TV it was working fine but somehow its turned this function back on by itself and now its down to 0.3Mbps.

@Pip60

Hi,  may I know the model number of your smart TV?

“It turned Mesh Technology back on by itself”, may I know how many times it happened so far?

Could you please swap the location of two satellite nodes to see if that made any difference?

Thank you very much.

Its a Samsung smart TV UE55TU8500UXXU which even though the option is off it still moves around the house to different nodes as does my Sky Q box and mini box keep changing nodes even thought the option is off and once they connect to one thats too far away i lose internet connection. They they all seem to turn themselves back on too whenever they want.

Hi, when the “Mesh Technology” if Off, Deco would not take the initiative to send roaming request to TV.

But if TV supported roaming protocol, it will also try to roam to the different Mesh nodes.

Have you checked with TV support whether there is also roaming on/off switch that could be disabled?

By the way, please also go to Deco APP>More>Advanced>Fast roaming and turn it off to have a look.

Thank you.

  Hi thanks for that the fast roaming is disabled in the app.  I have been in the app and actually watched devices switch back to roaming without me even touching it and not just my tv or sky Q box either.

  @Pip60

Hi,  there is a new firmware available for Deco M4 v2 and maybe you could try to manually update to the latest firmware 1.5.4 to have a look:

Deco M4-1.5.4 build20220113

How to Update the Firmware of Deco(Method 2 via web UI)
