Deco M5 parental controls, can't block YouTube
I need to keep my kids school devices from accessing YouTube. I've set up a profile for each device in Parental Controls and blocked every variant I can of YouTube. It worked for a while, but then magically stopped working one day. The filter level is set to PreTeen (any lower and it blocks access to Microsoft Teams which they need for school)

Hi, if anyone had the same issue, parental control could not block certain websites(like Youtube), please refer to the following suggestions:
1. What are the websites or APPs you wish to block?
--please test this website on TrendMicro (https://global.sitesafety.trendmicro.com/) and make sure you have its category blocked.
2. Manually add this website/APP under the profile.
3. Please go to profiles>insights>history and click this website and block it for your device.
4. If you still can access the blocked website, please switch the browser to incognito mode and check again in case it is DNS caches.
Note:
If all the blocked profiles did not work, please also the following settings:
---Whether you have private address enabled since parental control feature won't take effect because the device's MAC address has changed.
--- If there are any firewall programs, like Circle, please disconnect it from Deco since it would cause conflict with Parental control.
After trying the above suggestions, you still have the same issue, please send a ticket to support.forum@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum ID 257576] Parental controls can't block certain websites.
Thank you very much.

Hi, have you tried to manually add Youtube into the blocked APP/websites again to see whether it would continue to work?
If it worked again, then stopped one more time, please go to settings>help>contact US>suggestions and add the APP log and send to us;
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Yes, a thousand times over. I've also tried selecting and blocking youtube related URLs from each profile's browsing history in the app. Same behavior, does not block YouTube.

And could you please help me save the App log on the smartphone: Deco App>Settings on the top left>Help>Contact US>Suggestions and add the App log;
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Submitted the logs and referenced this forum post ID (576242) in the description.
I'll have to wait until everyone isn't using the wifi for school and work to update the firmware, but I'll give that a try.

and FYI, through the app, there's no firmware update shown. I'll do it through the web interface.

@awalton I've just checked on my network:
Android YouTube app connected to 'clients4.google.com'
Roku YouTube app connected to 'clients1.google.com' and 'ytimg.com'
So it appears that the videos are through 'clients*.google.com' rather than a YouTube URL.

Was able to do some troubleshooting today. After clearing the cache of the browser (Edge) on the kids tablet (Surface Go), typing "www.youtube.com" into the address bar wouldn't resolve. It seemed effectively blocked. However, searching for "youtube" in Bing and clicking the first link, they were able to access YouTube.
