New 1.2.12 firmware for Deco M9Plus V2 is worst that 1.2.11
Hi,
I have a 3 pack of M9Plus V2, and I'm being disappointed for the last couple months, a month ago was shared a beta firmware for V2 (1.2.11) that was good for seeing some M5 features in like : Web UI, See wich devices are connected to wich Deco, manage mesh for devives, see how decos are connected, .......
It gave me a perspective that would be close to release a final version closer to the M5 ....... Installed yesterday the new firware available on the website (1.2.12) and ......
All the new features from the beta (1.2.11) disappeared !!!! what a fallback!
What is wrong with development in TPLINK ? is M9P V2 will ever get close to M5 features ? will be soon ?
I'm really not knowing what to do, already sent an email to the store where I bought to check if I can return this but still no answer ....
Anybody already installed 1.2.12 ? what is your feedback ?
Tks

Thanks for that link.
I've managed to successfully upgrade 2 on my 3 M9+ V2 boxes:
When trying to upgrade the 3rd, I get the message "BusinessError: Received packet with business error 9" as well as a Python traceback showing:
Exception in Tkinter callback Traceback (most recent call last): File "lib-tk\Tkinter.py", line 1541, in __call__ File "upgrade.py", line 327, in upgrade File "upgrade.py", line 263, in upgrade_firmware File "upgrade.py", line 248, in call_tmpcli File "tmpv2\application.py", line 35, in request File "tmpv2\proto\tmp\client.py", line 195, in request File "tmpv2\proto\tmp\transaction.py", line 109, in sendrecv File "tmpv2\proto\tmp\client.py", line 144, in recv BusinessError: Received packet with business error 9
The new web interface is pretty flaky.
While I understand that tis is beta firmware and the new information available in the app is interesting but not entirely useful. Sometimes the device list appears and sometimes it doesn't.

I found that an hour or so of being updated, the information in the app was more reliable. But I can confirm with you that moments after upgrade, I wasn't showing accurate clients connected, etc.

@StankOnya, yes you are correct.
After my 3rd Deco was upgraded everything seemed to settle down. The web interface looks ok although a bit slow.
The app shows some interesting data now, especially the view of what each attached device is doing. There was a minor DNS issue where Deco was mis-reporting one of my internal device names, need to investigate this a bit more.
It would be useful if the Deco web status screen would show what DNS server the Deco was actually using.
Actually, I don't think the Deco is using DNS to identify devices.
should be:
pi@pihole:~ $ host 192.168.1.253
253.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer ricoh.home.
I appreciate that this is beta firmware so I'm not too bothered.

@StankOnya How do I install this? Hope it will solve my problem with the Decos going offline briefly but frequently. Regards Rumpetroll
