Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

@d0d0 couple of weeks ago TP-Link released a new firmware for both A6 and C6 routers. I've updated all of my routers and no problem so far. I really hope they fixed the bug.

Since updating the router with OpenWRT 19.07 firmware I have had no further issues, maybe something you could consider Stuart Popeyes Survey
yup updating router is going to be enough

I have been blaming my ISP for a dodgy connection, which feels as if it has only really presented in the last three months, but became untenable last week. Having then looked at the signals using a couple of apps on my phone, I noticed that the router's 2.4GHz signal was dropping out. The issue had been masked by the fact that there are a few WAPs around the house, so I only noticed the problem when I started to look specifically at the router's transmitter's MAC address.
However, having disabled the guest 2.4Ghz SSID as suggested in this thread, things seem to have improved. Thank you to @astra101 .
On a slightly separate note, I am running 1.2.0 Build 20191014 rel.33289(4555) F/W on a v2.0 C6 Archer that is reporting that I am running the latest F/W - but 200110 has been released since 23 Jan.
All a bit annoying. I have highlighted this thread to support, so perhaps it will get looked into and fixed in a coming F/W upgrade.

Just checked again and the router is now saying the F/W of January is available.

@StuartP I have the same problem in Archer C6 EU with latest version. 2'4 is lost with auto or fixed channel, 20 or 40, etc. I have daily reboot, with no solution. Sometimes 2'4 is lost with no solution. Perhaps a new firm...

I'm afraid the reaction from the support desk has been poor. There is no recognition that this is a problem (in the ITSMF-sense of the word), and the response to the incident has been utter nonsense... "Using another route as a modern weakens the 2.4 signal...."
Thankfully the 5GHz transmitter behaves, but my HP printer can only use 2.4.

I'm having the same issue here with a C2600 that has been working well for years an now for about a week, almost every night the 2.4g stop emitting (5g works ok). I changed the channel recently because we had issues with a new microwave oven...
