So i've got a thick house, not unusually thick, just well built, nothing fancy. I got 4 W3600(v1) to spread a nice mesh. Was working great. Have a back yard and wanted signal in garage, so I said, what the heck, I'll get two more. The two I got happened to be hardware version v1.20 where the others were v1. Now the v1.20 intermittently blink red 3 times a day maybe. So I swapped the v1.20 in the garage for the one in the living room, that one also started blinking red after a few hours, which means dropping signal. Never had that problem before with the others. I don't think one router is more than 25 ft away from another at any given point in the mesh. What's going on with the new HW versions? Any thoughts? When is the v1.20 going to have a new firmware upgrade. Both hw v1 and 1.20 are at the latest firmware versions, but they are different version numbers, although also different builds.

 

I was loving it until the 1.20 started dropping, Who knows the hardware and can bring some good news?

Swap the v1.2 with a v1 to see if the issue follows the v1.2 or stays with the placement.

@Tony Yup. That's what's great when you have 6 mesh routers in-house. While not one should be failing ever, when one does I can swap.

I found the 1.2 swap in the same location also failed.

I swapped the 1.0 with the location of the 1.2 and dropped the 1.2 versions off of the mesh with no issue, but then about 48 hours later the 1.0 dropped and after a minute or two caught signal again.

After another 48 hours no issues with the 1.0 mesh.

What is the firmware version you are currently running for both 1.0 and 1.2?

@Tony Thanks for sticking with this Tony. I just had a meeting and by chance, the connections failed just after my meeting. Had it happened during my meeting I would be in pretty bad shape.

I'm starting to test location changes and I have set the main router to one of the (1.20) versions. We could have 4 people streaming zoom or a video at any one time. Certainly not a load beyond their capacity...

@Super_Saiyan I'll bet one router or another has dropped about 5 time today. My work computer is off line as we speak. I'm going to start logging outages since this is becoming that type of situation.

I suppose it won't help for me to say that my goal was to have a seamless network solution, not so much the money, but now I don't have that seamless network solution I thought I was getting...

@Super_Saiyan Router went down an additional 3 times. I suspect the routers are getting hot.

I'm taking my laser thermometer on those with greenlights and they are about 108 degrees f. 

The ones with Red Lights I had read one over 111 and 113 degrees f. It's not easy to jump around the house doing this and not sure if that is the answer, but I suspect processors heating up. Unsustainable. Hope to find a solution before I have to return 6 routers...

@Super_Saiyan Yet another one went down, measured a peak of 116f. It's hard to get there right when it shuts off.

@Super_Saiyan My whole network became unstable and finally kept dropping routers. we had 2 routers with temp readings upon failure of 116f. This is from direct reading, putting the laser thermometer right on the bottom of the router and taking measurements.

 

Essentially 3 kids doing zoom sometimes concurrently sometimes not.

@Super_Saiyan I've removed the two 1.20 version routers from my network. 
I know there is a firmware version mismatch, however with a hardware version difference I thought it would work.

So now i'm back to the same question I started with.

 

Who knows hardware? Difference between 1.20 and 1.0 and what is the significance between the firmware variations. When will the 1.20 have a firmware alignment with the v1.0?
