Model: Deco W3600

Firmware Version:

I currently have the W3600 mesh system which is working great. But I may be switching for Frontier. Frontier only offers a modem-router unit. I would need to tether to that unit and use my mesh system. Would that slow down the speeds and by how much? Thanks for the help

Ideally you want to put that gateway in what is called bridge or modem only mode.  This disables their router functions and lets the Deco operate as a router.  Otherwise you would have to put the W3600 in AP mode which disables its routing and use it exclusivly for wireless service.  If you do that your would need to disable the gateway's wireless.

@Carl  Thank you for the answer. When running in Access Point mode will that slow the speeds down considerably? I have read somethings about using Frontiers unit in modem only mode. I'll see if I can get it set up that way. That seems like the best way to go.

Speeds are always going to be based firstly on the ethernet ports and cable used to connect the modem or gateway to the router or AP.  Speed at the W3600 sould not be any different in router or ap mode.  The only difference is the features available in each mode.
