Solution What can I do when 'previously configured' message appears during the camera configuration process?
This Article Applies to:
All Tapo Cameras
Phenomenon description:
When configuring the Tapo camera on the Tapo app, the message "The device has been previously configured. Please reset your device first" or "Preconfigured Device" may appear.
See the pictures below.
Workaround:
1) If the prompt page has the options "Keep Existing Settings" or "Reset Smart Device", you can tap "Keep Existing Settings" to keep the existing settings except for Wi-Fi or tap "Reset Smart Device" to factory reset your camera and go next steps to configure it.
Alternatively, you can press the reset button on the Tapo camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it and then reconfigure it with the Tapo app.
2) If the prompt page has the options "Cancel" or "Go to Reset", please try to press the reset button on the Tapo camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it and then reconfigure it with the Tapo app.
Please pay attention to the LED changes on the camera to ensure you have reset it successfully as per its UG.
