Difficulty formatting SD card on Tapo C200 camera
I have purchased a Tapo C 200 camera and a 128 sd card from Amazon.
The camera is working ok but it will not format the SD card and I get a message that there was a problem formatting it. I have tried formatting with the camera/app without success. To test the SD card I formatted it in my Canon camera and it worked fine, recording photos as normal. I formatted in the Canon camera again and tried it in the Tapo 200 without success. I tried the reset button but got the same results. It would appear the camera is faulty in respect of the SD formatting.
Don’t want to return it if possible. Any suggestions.

yes, same here, i have a sandisk 32gb in one and the Kingston 64gb in the other and they are doing fine. Got the 128gb refunded as useless in the camera but worked in everything else!

The tapo app, should format the card to be fat32, then do whatever it does to the card.
Its not really fair on the user to have to use a pc to format a card then get the tapo app to format it again.

I have tried to format two sd cards I recently bought to Fat 32 on PC as the website suggests. But they still can’t work on the two Tapo C200 I recently purchased. On the other hand, I switched these two sd cards to my two car recorders. They work! While the two old sd cards originally used on the car recorders can work on the two new Tapo C200. It’s so weird.
the cards that fail to work on C200 are
The new sad Cards are Sandisk extreme 64GB A2 SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I(V30)(A2) 64GB

Solution
To all who are having trouble with getting SD Cards to be recognised. Tapo C200 Camera
Instert your SD Card, Reset your camera, use the app to add your camera back to your network, then within the app, it will ask you to initialize the SD Card.
