When you go into Playback & Download, there will show Detected Events. There are 3, vertical dots on the right. Click on it and it will show Adjust Event Type. Tick Pet Detection and tick off Person Detection. You may have to do this again, or again. Read what it says up the top.

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to adjust the detection settings and check if it helps.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.
1. Please send me(@Solla-topee) the Tapo C320WS and C520WS's MAC addresses via a private message.
2. Send us a picture of the camera's Device Settings > Detection page and the sensitivity value of the enabled detection types.
3. Can you send us the video showing the reported issue for analysis?
You can upload the video and picture to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download them, and send me the link via a private message.
Best Regards

i have a similar issue, its detecting multiple things as people at night including, moths, cats spiders etc. the issue for me is I use the person detection at night to notify and alarm that a 'person' is in my property. Too many false positives means there is no point in having these, I just won't enable the 'scene' as I need a good nights sleep.
To turn off the detection feature is not a fix but anyone else got any ideas?

Turn off Motion Detection.
I had the same problem last year when I installed my cameras. I live on a property where there are a lot of wildlife and insects. Birds, cats, foxes, possums, rabbits, rats, moths, spiders. I turned off motion detection and that fixed it. I actually don't need it.
I don't have a pet and Pet Detection is off also. The only detection I have is Person Detection and Vehicle Detection. All other detections are off. I have adjusted the Detection Zones to where people or vehicles would move. I also needed to adjusted the Person Detection Sensitivity from 8 down to 6. If I get a false detection, I adjust it in the Correct Event Type. Like a bird detected as a person, change it to Pet Detection or Motion Detection. It does not happen often and so far so good.
